My Story 

My name is Adventure Ric
The Adventure starts in July of 2014 where I lived in the Wilderness for    3 1/2  years,  first on a BMW Adventure bike second year on a Mountain Bike, and the third year out of a Van Backpacking.  In October of 2021

I decided to do another Adventure in Redington Pass Arizona, little did I know before I left Minnesota I got bit by a Tick that carried Lyme Disease. I was once again Living my best life, not a  care in the World . Then in March I had an itch on my back, It ended up being a small open Wound that would not heal, this ended up to be Ground Zero of where the Tick bit me, causing Extreme Fatigue ,loss of movement in my right arm, eventually Bedridden from Months ,only to stay awake one hour a day. I did 30 High dose Vitamin C infusions called a Myers Cocktail along with Ozone and Hyperbaric Chamber Therapy. Nothing seamed to help. Then one day I found a Video on Dieting for Lyme Disease and found out Lyme is a Bacteria that feeds on Sugar, all Sugar. Fruit , Fibrous  Carbohydrates  and anything processed.  By trail an error, I believe I  came up with the Perfect Nutritional Protocol for me.

How Lyme Disease Bacteria Feed

The bacterium that causes Lyme disease (Borrelia burgdorferi) is a spirochete that survives in the body by scavenging nutrients from its host. Unlike many bacteria, Borrelia has a limited metabolism and cannot make many of its own nutrients. It relies on:

  • Simple sugars (glucose) for energy

  • Amino acids and fatty acids it obtains from host tissues

So yes — sugar is a primary fuel source for Borrelia. This includes glucose circulating in your blood, no matter where it comes from (bread, candy, fruit, vegetables, etc.).

 

Fruits and Vegetables

  • Fruits contain fructose and glucose, both of which enter the bloodstream and can serve as energy sources for the bacteria.

  • Starchy vegetables (like potatoes, corn, carrots, beets) break down into glucose, which also fuels them.

  • Non-starchy vegetables (like leafy greens, broccoli, zucchini) have very low sugar content and fiber slows absorption, so they contribute less.

  • Borrelia depends on glucose availability to survive and replicate. High sugar diets (including natural sugars) can make the environment more favorable for it.

  • At the same time, your immune cells also require glucose to function, so completely removing carbs isn’t always ideal. The balance is important.

Why Fiber Is Considered an Antinutrient

Fiber is often promoted as a “must-have” for gut health, but in reality, certain types of fiber can act like antinutrients because of how they interact with digestion and nutrient absorption.

 

1. Blocks Nutrient Absorption
  • Insoluble fiber can bind minerals like calcium, iron, magnesium, and zinc.

  • This prevents those nutrients from being absorbed in the intestines, leaving them to pass out of the body unused.

Bill’s Story 

From Pills to Power
